The 5008 now has a larger 10-inch central screen and the 12.3-inch digital dashboard panel has been redesigned, Peugeot said. New assistance and safety technologies include night vision, which can detect pedestrians or animals up to 250 meters (820 feet) ahead of the car, and Drive Assist Plus which takes control of the vehicle on the highway and in stop-and-go traffic, as long as the driver’s hands remain on the wheel.
Peugeot has also changed its trim offerings as it seeks to move the 5008 upmarket. The 5008 will be available in three trims, Active, Allure and GT, with a “pack” available for each as an intermediate level. Woodgrain trim is now available on some versions.
The front end of the 5008 now has a “frameless” grille with that extends to the headlights and wraps around the front fenders. Lighting has been enhanced with a “fog mode” that automatically dims the front headlights when the rear fog light is turned on.
The face-lift for the 5008 follows one for the smaller 3008 compact SUV, which was also redesigned from a minivan. The 5008 is built in Rennes and Sochaux, France. The new version will be available starting at the end of this year."
